Richmond Annex

Welcome to Richmond Annex

Tree-lined streets, a central location and affordable home prices make Richmond Annex's real estate an excellent choice for first-time homebuyers seeking good value. Richmond Annex, also known as the Annex, is a progressive and working class neighborhood, comprised mainly of small 2 and 3 bedroom bungalow homes. Although part of the City of Richmond, it sits apart like an island separated from the main part of Richmond by I-80 and otherwise surrounded by the City of El Cerrito. Perhaps that's why it manages to maintain a small town feel. The residents here are friendly and close-knit, as can be seen during the annual Richmond Annex Neighborhood Party, complete with barbecue, music and talent acts.

The neighborhood's retail corridor is along San Pablo Avenue, where diners delight in the endless choices of inexpensive generic and ethnic restaurants, including Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and Chinese.

Conveniently located near major freeways and public transportation, Richmond Annex is central to El Cerrito, Albany and Berkeley. The "big cities" are also easily accessible via BART, bus, train, ferry and car. It shares two BART stations, El Cerrito and El Cerrito del Norte, with its neighbors. By freeway, San Francisco is within 35 minutes, Marin is 15 minutes away, and the city of Oakland is a 20-minute drive.
