What's changed? Just a little.
On Aug 12, 2024, the inner East Bay real estate market changed forever. On August 17, 2024, the rest of the nation will follow suit. I'm sure you've seen the headlines. As usual, I'm trying to find fun, irony, and opportunities to innovate in the changing landscape.

Chicago Stuff
Have We Met?
If you've met me and thought," WTF," you're not alone.
Although I've been in the Bay Area since 2002, I grew up in Chicago. Last weekend, I visited my family, and here are some memories I mustered while there. Note: I'm one of 4 girls, all born less than 2 years apart; my mother is 85.
Theater: My parents both had side gigs in community theater. They threw us into musicals, when possible, for free babysitting. This is why I can sing "If I Were a Rich Man" from Fiddler on the Roof, "Willkommen" from Cabaret, or "One" from A Chorus Line on command. Just ask me.
- Quite: We're not a quiet bunch. My Apple watch gave me the "loud noises" alert several times a day and the "have you fallen" alert once while playing volleyball. Did my team win? Hard no.
- Fun: Are we dysfunctional? Of course, we're Jews, and my family has elevated dysfunction to an art form. Yet, we also know how to have fun. When we gather, we dance, play guitar, dress up, play games, eat food - a lot of it, and tell jokes.
- High School: We were horrible in high school - especially compared to my kids. For example, my parents went away on a 3-week vacation, and the police arrested my eldest sister because our party was too noisy. You know the rest if you're reading this and went to Maine East High School in Desplains. I'll leave the rest of the details to your imagination because I'm a professional now.
- Aging: My mother has always been the one who brings the party to any group or location. Unfortunately, she'd like to opt out of aging, but the universe disagrees. I've learned so much about how we can help parents cope with the frustrating, challenging, and beautiful opportunities older adults encounter. Also, there are many ways adult children can be helpful. Today is the offer day for 521 Victoria Court, San Leandro. This unicorn home, a renovated, One-Level, 2.5-bedroom, 1.5-bath Craftsman with a detached, permitted 1/1 ADU, is about to get its new owner/wizard/magician (the unicorn description falls apart here). Magical or not, there is exciting news coming soon!

DJ Bukue One starts spinning classic funk and hip hop at 7 pm, and the movie will begin at dusk, around 8:15 pm. I may even share my popcorn with you.
