The Velvet Rope Comes to Real Estate
- On Tuesday, Zillow announced a new feature called "Preview," allowing homes to appear on their site before they officially hit the market. Zillow says it gives buyers earlier access to listings. The news follows another deal sending Compass listings directly to Redfin - creating more places where certain homes may appear before everyone else sees them. Supporters call it innovation. Critics say it could start to feel like a nightclub with velvet ropes - early access for some, while others wait outside.

Tree Disputes
- In our weekly sales meeting, we had a presentation by a local attorney about tree disputes. All I can say is: WOW. Apparently, when spectacular views, mature trees, and the most litigious state in the country collide, things get spicy. The attorney's advice was refreshingly simple: When a new neighbor moves in, bring them a pie. Everything is easier with pie. No Kings March
- My birthday is March 28, the same day as the No Kings March in Oakland. I'll be there carrying protest signs against the lunacy unfolding in the U.S. and abroad. Hope to see you there — protests are always a sight to behold in our emo-teenager city.
Humble Brag: 6-Minute Plank
- I did a 6-minute plank last week, and my goal is 10 minutes by my birthday. I figured this was a safe place to mention it since I'm fairly certain no one is still reading the newsletter by now. But I was proud.
