Making Sense of the World is Hard

Making Sense of the World is Hard

First, I'd like to acknowledge the tragic events that began on October 7th in Israel. My heart goes out to the innocent victims of all races and religions and their loved ones. During difficult moments of turmoil, I turn to Living Room Conversations (LRC). I volunteered with this non-profit during the pandemic and the George Flyodd protests, and it's a great way to cultivate peaceful communication about complex topics. How are you dealing with your feelings about the war? I'd love to hear.

"Living Room Conversations works to heal society by connecting people across divides - politics, age, gender, race, nationality, and more - through guided conversations proven to build understanding and transform communities."

I can't think of an appropriate transition to the rest of this newsletter - so umph!

Want a Gorgeous Desk Calendar?

  • Desk Calendars! If you're a young person, let me explain. A long time ago, we had these printed things called "Calendars." You could touch and write on them. Every year, Red Oak creates a beautifully designed calendar with original artwork. I've included a sneak peek below. If you'd like to have one, respond to this email. Let me know if you'd like me NOT to send you one - they aren't cheap.

Musings:

  • At 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the 18th, I got an Emergency Alert on my phone, "Earthquake Detected! Drop, Cover, and Hold On." I'd sum up the response from neighbors and friends to be meh; we're busy.
  • If you've seen the Barbie Movie, you must watch Pete Davidson's Spoof of "I'm Just Ken," from last week on SNL; it's hilarious and a good distraction from the news.

The Best Job Ever!

As I said in my bio video, which is riveting, I love my job. I feel like a Fairy Godmother when things go well. I can also be found scrubbing floors I don't own, identifying termites with wings, and reviewing the fine print in home warranties. But this month, I got to be a Fairy.

  • First-Time Homebuyer: After looking at houses for the better part of this year, I helped the cutest couple purchase their first home in Glenview. I can't wait to see them grow and thrive in this sweet neighborhood. Thanks for the trust, A & O.
  • 6 Offers and SOLD! I refuse to say "I'm over the moon" for my seller, so I'll say - YEA! I was honored to sell the house of an old friend and colleague in Walnut Creek with Judy Richardson. Thanks to B for trusting us with your sale, and congratulations on starting your next chapter.
  • New Listing in Montclair: Stay tuned for my new co-listing with Judy Richardson. Coming to market the last week of October, it's a 3-bed, 2.5 bath home in lower Montclair with phenomenal gardens.

  • Referrals:
I'd appreciate your referrals if you know anyone buying, selling, or investing in real estate.
  • Leave me a Google Review!
Do you know what I love as much as referrals? Reviews. I'm starting a review campaign because Google owns me, and you, too, BTW. If you've done business with me in any of my careers, I'd love it if you'd post a review about your experience, assuming it's 5 Stars. ;-)
